Moorea är som en lillasysterö till Tahiti. På morgnarna går
färjorna med alla jobbpendlare in till Tahiti och jobb och så på
eftermiddagarna tillbaka till Moorea och den lugna lilla ön. Vi gillade henne
verkligen. Det var så skönt att komma bort från marinan och allt jobb med
båten. Nu fick vi chans att njuta. En riktigt rolig (ok, lite turistfixad)
aktivitet på Moorea var att snorkla med stingrockorna. De är så lena och nyfikna,
och tittar alltid efter lättserverad mat. En lokal man gav oss lite tonfisk att
fresta rockorna med. Han sa att vi skulle hålla tonfisken över deras huvud,
deras munnar är nämligen som de mest effektiva sugpropparna (ja, det är de, vi
kan säga att vi testade det). En av rockorna, vår favorit, kom tillbaka till
oss igen och igen, vi kände igen den på alla våra klappmärken uppe på det lena huvudet.
Moorea is like a small sister island of Tahiti.
In the mornings the commuter ferries go in to Tahiti and to work and then back
in the afternoon to the tranquil island Moorea with the more laid-back
atmosphere. We really liked Moorea. It was so good to get away from the marina
and all the work on the boat. Now we got a chance to enjoy. A really fun (and
al little touristic) thing to do was snorkeling with the stingrays. The
stingrays are so soft and curious, and always looking for some easy food. A
local man gave us some tuna to use as a temptation. He told us to keep the tuna
above their heads; their mouths are like the most efficient suction fans (yes
they are, we could say we tested their efficiency). One of the rays, a favorite, returned to us
over and over again, we recognized it from all the marks on the soft head where
we had caressed it.
Vi cyklade på gröna vackra Moorea, och tog dingetur ut på en
motu på revet.
We rented bikes on beautiful green Moorea, and
took the dinghy to a motu on the reef.
Vakthundar? Nja, men de försökte göra sitt jobb och vakta
snäckor som plockats. Men vilken hund vill inte hellre ha en klapp?
Watchdogs? Well, they did try to guard the
shells that were collected. But is there any dog that does not rather want a
pat on the back?
